"I know I'm falling more in love with you"で進行形と比較級を使って、今まさにどんどん好きになっている躍動感を表しているところや、"If I could make this summer dream come true, I'd wish to be with only you"で仮定法を使って、叶わない夢のはかなさを表しているところや、"I've searched everywhere for someone like you"で現在完了形を使うことで、昔から今もずっーと探し続けていたんだよと女性の彼を想う気持ちの強さが表されています。

BENIのCOVERSで英語学習！

今回はBENIのCOVERSを使った英語学習について書きます。

私は英語は得意でしたが、洋楽には全然興味がありませんでした。
洋楽はレベルが高すぎて自分には難しすぎると思っていたからです。
しかし、あることをきっかけに洋楽に入り込むことができるようになりました。

それは、BENIのCOVERSに出会ったことです！

BENIは、沖縄出身の若い女性に人気の歌手です。両親がアメリカ人と日本人のハーフなので英語もペラペラ。そのBENIが「COVERS」と題して日本の名曲をカバーしたアルバムを出しています。

どれのカバー曲もすごく好きになって、その中でも斉藤和義さんの「歌うたいのバラッド」にドはまりしました！
また日本語と英語の歌詞を見比べ、カラオケでも歌えるようにたくさん練習しました。

いきなり英語の歌ではなく、すでに知っている日本の歌を英語で歌ってあるため、抵抗なく取り組むことができました！そして何と言ってもBENIの美しい歌声に癒されました。

そのうち、英語の発音・リズム・イントネーションなどにも慣れてきて、自信がついてきました。
また日本語と英語を比較していると日本語の「空気を読む文化」と英語の「きちんと言葉にする文化」など文化の違いを見ることもでき、勉強になることばかりでした！

これが洋楽を楽しむ入り口として自分にはぴったりでした！
